Trump and Israel Increase Pressure on Iran Ahead of Strait of Hormuz Deadline

U.S. President Donald Trump, together with Israel, has intensified pressure on Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face potential attacks on its energy infrastructure. Trump, who has delivered mixed signals since the conflict escalated with joint U.S.-Israeli airstrikes on February 28, warned Tehran that the deadline for reaching a deal to end the war is rapidly approaching. In a post on Truth Social, Trump reminded Iran of his ultimatum, stating that it had ten days to either agree to terms or reopen the Strait of Hormuz, adding that time is nearly up with only 48 hours remaining before severe consequences would follow. His messaging has fluctuated between suggesting possible diplomatic progress and issuing stark threats to devastate the Islamic Republic if demands are not met.

Trump Weighs Cabinet Reshuffle Amid Mounting Pressure from Iran War

Donald Trump is reportedly considering a broader cabinet reshuffle following the dismissal of Attorney General Pam Bondi earlier this week. The move comes amid rising frustration within the administration over the political fallout from the ongoing conflict with Iran, according to sources familiar with internal White House discussions cited by Reuters. The potential cabinet changes are intended to provide a “reset” for the administration during a highly pressured period, as the five-week war has driven up fuel prices, weakened Trump’s approval ratings, and raised concerns among the Republican Party ahead of the November midterm elections.
